New in Thunderbird 7

This article describes the major changes in Thunderbird version 7. For a complete list of bugs that have been resolved in the release, refer to the list maintained on The Rumbling Edge blog or the Thunderbird Builds thread on MozillaZine. Note that this list was compiled as of the beta 3 build of Thunderbird version 7 and is subject to change.

This release mostly consists of back-end bug fixes and minor user interface tweaks. Several of these concern attachments:

  • Improved interface for displaying attachments in the message reader
  • Forwarding emails as attachments now records the message's size
  • Adding attachments via the command-line now records their size

Other changes include:

  • Display account names in the favorite folders pane only when there are duplicated folder names and

location information
