Maybe wrong Linux and Mac folder path

  1. Hi,

I think I found a discrepancy in Linux (and maybe Mac) folder path:

Default profile location according to this article: Win: %APPDATA%\Thunderbird\Profiles\xxxxxxxx.default\ Linux: ~/.thunderbird/xxxxxxxx.default/ Mac: ~/Library/Thunderbird/Profiles/xxxxxxxx.default/

So to go to a folder containing Thunderbird folder from the Thunderbird profile folder you should: Win: go up three levels Linux: go up two levels Mac: go up three levels

But this article says: Win: go up three levels Linux: go up three levels Mac: go up two levels

  2. Hi Jiří, I'll test it on a Linux machine, when I can.

Regarding macOS, the number is different due to the way Finder works. Here's a screencast of it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M6z_MNupUmM

  3. Hi Chris, I use Kubuntu and Xubuntu and must go two levels up. The path is ~/.thunderbird/xxxxxxxx.default/

Alright, thank you for the screencast, I've never used macOS.

  4. Can you see the .thunderbird folder after going up two levels? I wonder if we should mention that you need to see hidden folders.

  5. Yes, it should be mentioned. Hidden folders need to be visible, otherwise you don't see the .thunderbird folder after going up two levels.
